KCB Information Services

Did you miss our 80th birthday party?

Well, we had smoked Lake Michigan Salmon (that is a fresh water salmon, not the salt water salmon you get at the store), meat balls, shrimp, fruit, deli sandwiches, cheese and crackers, cake, and several types of drinks.

Here is a quick history of KCB Information Services (Kewanee Credit Bureau):

In May 1928, 84 businesses in Henry & Stark County formed a Co-op Credit Bureau and in June 1928 they opened for business serving Henry & Stark Counties.

When I bought the Kewanee Credit Bureau in 1989 they had less than 50 members and they served Henry, Stark, NE Knox and Western Bureau counties.  At that time the Kewanee Credit Bureau only sold credit reports and was a completely manual credit bureau.  The only modern equipment they had was a micro fich reader - - does anyone use those anymore?  We became an affliate of TRW and Credit Data of Illinois.

When I bought the credit bureau, my goal was to grow and expand it to provide all the services I wish I had when I was a loan officer at the 1st National Bank of Pekin and the Installment Loan Manager at Madison Park Bank and Manager of the Peoria Chapter CU.

We now provide credit services to over 300 banks, CUs, land lords, police departments, car dealers and other businesses.  We sell Consumer, Business, Employment and Merged and Mortgage Credit Reports.  We also provide Flood Life of Loan and Flood Determinations, Criminal Back Ground checks, AVM (internet appraisals) and 2nd mortgage products that reduce paper work and speed up the lending process.

We also cover a much larger area.  We have members as far north as Madison Wisc, West to Davenport down to Quincy. As far south as Hillsboro and members in Decatur Bloomington/Normal up to Streator, Ottawa and Sheridan.

In 2004 we moved our office from Kewanee to Pekin.
